Community and Client Events

The Innovest Financial Partners team has participated for many years in major Brookside Business Association events.

We’ve been a Prize Sponsor of the nationally ranked Brookside Art Annual since 2003, in addition to actively volunteering our time at the event.

In the Spring, we sponsor and volunteer at the Brookside Shred Event, an annual event to allow Brookside businesses and residential neighbors to safely dispose of documents they no longer want or need. At least two tons of documents are shredded each year.

Attendees at a recent networking event at the Innovest Financial Partners office dined on coffee and doughnuts as they made braided dog toys out of old t-shirts. The toys were donated to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.

The Innovest office has been a drop-off site for Toys for Tots for many years. During the 2019 holiday season clients and friends helped us contribute 5 trash-bag -sized containers of toys for children who might otherwise receive no gifts.

Client events include our popular annual retiree event. The most recent event featured a private tour of the TWA Museum, followed by lunch in an area set up to resemble seating in a plane. Previous events have included a Gangster Tour throughout Kansas City, a visit to the Alexander Majors House Museum and a tour through the National WWI Museum and Memorial.

Clients have learned about Social Security filing strategies, the ins and outs of Medicare, and heard updates on the latest thinking about the markets and the economy in a relaxed, casual setting.

On the lighter side, clients have attended classes on how to distinguish among wines by their aroma and how to evaluate whiskeys and bourbons. A class in cybersecurity drew a capacity crowd. The annual Holiday Open House attracts a large, festive crowd each year.

Visitors to the office are invited to take advantage of the office “Lending Library,” and choose a book they’d like to read or drop one off they believe others might enjoy.
